Aha…No money for 2020 power plans

It’s barely a year since the launch of the power “master plan” with the aim of achieving 40000 MW by 2020 and already we are hearing tales of there is no money to complete this project or that project. This is hardly suprising since the amount quoted for achieving that goal was thought to be about $6bn annually. We know even the FG with all their oil “wealth” can’t afford that and the onus was on the private sector to participate. Well apparently the private sector participation is um…..missing, with the fg apparently trying to fund everything itself and seemingly set to fail at it. Why is there no private sector participation? Read this and then this to find out why.
